Line 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City Metro (HCMC Metro) is the first line under construction of the future Ho Chi Minh City transit system.
The total length is 19.7 km (2.6 km underground and 17.1 km elevated) and there will be 14 stations (3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations).
Work began on Line 1 in August 2012 and it was scheduled to be completed by 2018. The completion date has changed a number of times due to construction delays and financial constraints. The most recent estimate for opening is Q4 2024.
