The Ninoy Aquino International Airport rehabilitation project (NAIA Rehab) is a proposal to upgrade the current airport of Manila (MNL).
There have been various proposals over the years to renovate the airport, which is often listed among the worst and most stressful airports in the world.
Debate on the future of NAIA came to a head on News Years Day of 2023 when a power outage caused travel chaos and made global news.
There are two new airports are being built near Manila at Bulacan and Sangley, and there have been calls to close NAIA when they open.
NAIA will continue to operate, and the airport is now being considered for privatization by 2024.
This page is an ongoing archive of NAIA rehab news.
