Bali Beach Tram: A tramway connecting the airport to Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak

June 11, 2024 By James Clark 2 Comments

Bali Beach Tram

The Bali Beach Tram is a proposed tramway along the Bali beachfront. The tram would connect Ngurah Rai International Airport to Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak beaches (collectively known as Semigita Beach).

Another proposed alignment is for the tram to connect to the Bali LRT at Kuta Station, and the tram would take passengers to beachfront destinations.

Stage 2 of the project would extend the line along the coast from Seminyak to Canggu.

I can not help but notice that the trams in the photos look as if they are from the the early 20th century

The pictures reminded me of the old Blackpool to Fleetwood tram that runs along the coast, which I wouldn’t mind. The bigger problem is that there is no space along the coast for a tram.
