Sunshine Tower is a proposed twin-tower development in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. The tower is named after the developer, Sunshine Group.
The property is located on one of the “golden land” sites, one of the parcels of land so named by the city as being in a desirable location that can be redeveloped.
The 72-storey twin towers will be 370 metres high, joined by a podium at the ground level and a sky bridge at the top. The towers will comprise of office space, apartments, and a 6-star hotel. The podium will include a mall.
The planned starting date for construction is in the first quarter of 2021, with a completion date of 2025.
The Sunshine Group are headquartered in Hanoi and they have several properties in Ho Chi Minh City. The project was announced in January 2020 on local real estate sites, but so far there is no official news about Sunshine Tower on the official website.
Half of the site is currently a car park, but there are also some colonial-era villas that would have to be demolished if the project goes ahead in this format.
If it is built it would be the second tallest tower in Saigon, behind Landmark 81 at 461 metres. It would be the tallest building in District 1, eclipsing the Bitexco Financial Tower at 262.5 metres.
