Melaka Tram: A proposed 3-line tramway system for the historic port city of Malaysia

Melaka City Tramway System

The Melaka City Tramway System is a proposed tram system for Melaka by private company Metro Trem SDN BHD.

The system will be approximately 19 km with 3 lines and 25 stops. The tram will connect Melaka Sentral bus station.to River Cruise Terminal, Bukit China, Melaka Raya, Taming Sari and the historical city port area.

There will be 12 5-car tram sets with a capacity of 280 passengers. Trams will run on dedicated right-of-way tram lines at ground level. Trams will have lower floors for easy boarding. Fares will range from RM2 to RM5.

Melaka tram routes

Route 1: Lengkaran Hang Tuah
5.0 km lines with 10 stops station and 6 road crossings.

Route 2: Lengkaran Laksamana Cheng Ho
14. 0 km lines with 20 stops station and 11 road crossings.

Route 3: Lengkaran Melaka Raya
6.0 km lines with 8 stops station and 6 road crossings.
