4 national railway lines

Regarding the national railway, according to the railway network plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, there will be 4 railway lines related to the Hai Phong city area.

Specifically, to build a new railway line with a double track, measuring 1,435mm from Hanoi to Hai Phong. The route runs along the Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway (south of the highway) to Nam Hai Phong station, connecting Hai Phong international gateway seaport and Dinh Vu, Nam Do Son, Lach Huyen port areas. expected to be implemented in 2030.

New construction of Nam Dinh – Thai Binh – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh railway is a line parallel to the coastal road, expected to be implemented in 2030.

To study and build a new railway line connecting Yen Vien – Ha Long railway to Lach Huyen port, which is a route for freight transport (through Thuy Nguyen new city) when needed, expected to be implemented in 2030.

In addition, upgrading and renovating the existing railway in the future when forming a new high-speed railway Hanoi – Hai Phong, studying and converting the existing line into an inner-city railway, connecting with other railway stations. The Nam Dinh – Thai Binh – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh coastal railway (including the southern section of Hai Phong – Ha Long) gradually builds regional and inter-regional connection railways suitable to the needs of each period, projects expected to be implemented by 2050.

For urban railway in Hai Phong, 4 railway lines are proposed to be built to connect attractions (new administrative center north of Cam river, existing urban center, new urban center) south, service center, port, industrial park, airport, sports area…).
