Lanna International Airport (Second Chiang Mai International Airport) is a proposed new airport in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The new airport (also referred to as New Chiang Mai Airport and Chiang Mai 2 International Airport) would be built on land in San Kamphaeng (Chiang Mai Province) and Ban Thi (Lamphun Province) about 25 km from Chiang Mai City..
The airport was approved for construction in 2018, and work was expected to commence in 2019. News about the airport went quiet during the pandemic, but the project was announced by the PM in 2023.
Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) would still operate alongside the second airport, and CNX has since had expansion plans approved.
