Second Chiang Mai International Airport is a proposed new airport in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The new airport (also referred to as New Chiang Mai Airport and Chiang Mai 2 International Airport) would be built on land in San Kamphaeng (Chiang Mai Province) and Ban Thi (Lamphun Province) about 25 km from Chiang Mai City..
The airport was approved for construction in 2018, and work was expected to commence in 2019. There have not been any updates since then.
Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) would still operate alongside the second airport, and CNX has since had expansion plans approved.
