Phitsanulok Mass Transit – Auto Tram System

The Phitsanulok Mass Transit Project is a proposed transit system in Phisanulok, Thailand.

Five lines have been proposed in total, with the Red Line being the first line to be developed. This is an East-West line from Phitsanulok University to Central Plaza. An Auto Tram System (rubber-tire tram) is being considered for the line. BRT and Light Rail systems have also been proposed.

Red Line

Phitsanulok Red Line

12.6 km – 15 stations.

Phitsanulok University, Phitsanulok Bus Terminal 2, Indochina intersection, Highway 12, Makro Department Store, Tesco Lotus, Chinnalap Village, Phitsanulok Bus Terminal 1, Phitsanulok Technical Commercial School, Topland Department Store, Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, Phitsanulok Provincial Hall, Wat Khuha Sawan, Phitsanulok Mueang Mai Village.

Blue line

Teng Nam – Railway station – Buddha Jinarat Hospital – Rama – Makro – Tone Wah intersection – 11.5 km

Orange line

Naresuan University – Tone Wah intersection – Ban Klong – Central Plaza Phitsanuloke – 15.5 km

Green line

Airport – Buddha Jinarat Hospital – Railway station – Ruean Phae – Phitsanulok bus terminal No. 2 – Phitsanulok bus terminal No. 1 – 15 km

Pink line

Wat Yai – Top Land Department Store – Khok Matoom – Fort Naresuan – Sub Anant – Buddha Jinarat – Railway station – Wat Khooha Sawan – 7.5 km

MRTA plans rail systems in 4 provinces – [23/08/24]
The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) plans to develop a light rail system in Phitsanulok. The agency estimates the cost will be 5 billion baht for Phitsanulok.

2022

Provincial rail projects receive priority – [04/01/22]

“A total of 81.5 kilometres of rail infrastructure projects in six provinces are expected to get off the ground within the next few years, including light rail development in Khon Kaen, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Hat Yai and Phitsanulok.”

“Three other light rail projects in Nakhon Ratchasima, Phitsanulok and Hat Yai are awaiting EIA and PPP studies.”

“The OTP is also conducting feasibility studies for similar rail projects in Phitsanulok and Udon Thani.”
