Redeveloping old Phnom Penh airport, Jakarta sinks deeper as subsidence worsens flood risks, redesigning Kuala Lumpur’s public spaces, Mindanao Railway revived, new bridge to link Marina Centre and Gardens by the Bay, Thailand construction mishaps pile up, and Ho Chi Minh City officially begins construction of Metro Line 2.
Hello from Ho Chi Minh City! I have been away for over 6 months, which is a long time considering I was based here for so many years. I will be here for a month, with some side trips included.
Site news
In site news, I have almost finished the migration of the newsletter from news.futuresoutheastasia.com to futuresoutheastasia.com. Everything that is published will now be on a single domain instead of the former domain and subdomain format.
I will also be adjusting the weekly publishing schedule and what goes out to paid subscribers.
The reports and editorials that I published on the newsletter for Premium subscribers will now be on the main site, while the weekly news roundup will be for Premium subscribers. I will also be introducing a monthly roundup at the end of the month, which will be free.
So next week the publishing schedule will be:
– Featured article (public)
– Weekly News (Premium subscribers)
– Monthly Update (public)
The monthly update will include site news, article updates, and my travel plans for research trips, and other writing that doesn’t fit anywhere else. I will also have another update about the site migration.
